Atomos Shogun Classic 7inch Monitor-Recorder & Switcher
The 7inch Shogun HDR Classic Cinema Monitor-Recorder-Switcher combines monitoring, recording, and live switching in one portable solution. With its ultra-bright 3000 cd/m² screen, HDMI and SDI connectivity, and support for video input up to DCI/UHD 4K60, it is well-suited for cinema production, live events, and broadcast work.

Ultrabright Screen
The Shogun Classic’s 7.2inch 1920 x 1200 display delivers a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 3000 cd/m² brightness for clear HDR or SDR monitoring in any setting. Recently captured footage can be played back instantly on the same display, making on-set review quick and accurate.

Multi-camera Switching
With four SDI inputs, the Shogun Classic becomes a compact multi-camera switcher and recorder. It can record a fifth program channel of your live-switched output and send the mixed feed out via HDMI or SDI for broadcast or streaming. Asynchronous switching removes the need for locked sources, letting you use cost-effective cameras without extra gear.

HDR I/O and colour Management
Output HDR content in real time over HDMI to any compatible HDR display. The Shogun Classic lets you view SDR or HDR at 10-bit quality as it is captured, ensuring accurate monitoring across a range of workflows. When paired with high-end cameras like ARRI, RED, or Sony VENICE, you gain precise HDR monitoring and the full suite of exposure and focus tools.

Recording
Connect a DSLR or mirrorless camera through HDMI to record in up to 4K60 Apple ProRes or AVID DNx formats, ensuring edit-ready files with professional quality. The Shogun Classic can also record up to four 1080p60 streams simultaneously as independent ISOs while you switch between them in real time using the touchscreen.

Additional Features
The unit includes LTC input via BNC, 2-pin XLR audio input and output for two channels, dual L-series battery plates, a 1/4″-20 mounting thread, cooling via fan and heat sink, and a 2.5mm LANC port for remote start/stop. A 3.5mm headphone output is available for audio monitoring. It comes with a Master Caddy II and also supports SSDmini drives for flexible media options.

Monitoring Tools
Packed with professional monitoring aids, the Shogun Classic supports custom 3D LUTs, false colour, focus peaking, HDR exposure, pixel magnification (1:1, 2:1), RGB parade, vectorscope, frame guides, zebras, waveform monitoring, safe areas, markers, vertical flip, and anamorphic de-squeeze. It works with the Atomos Calibrator and Display Pro HL/Display Plus HL, offers HD downscaling and cropping, and converts interlaced or PSF to progressive for modern workflows.
