“We all view the world differently. “
AIPP Western Australian photographer of the Year 2011 James Simmons will showcase his award-winning work in a new exhibition opening at the Orangery Fine Art Gallery in Shenton Park on November 22.
In his first solo exhibition, How Eye Sea, James expresses his perspective of the world through evocative, fine art, and storytelling imagery.
James’ photographic career is already starting to soar after just 5 years in the industry. As well as being named AIPP WA photographer of the Year, he was also named the AIPP National Illustrative Photographer of the Year for 2011. The signature images that brought him these amazing accolades will feature in the exhibition alongside other award winning images.
Supporting artist Olivia Davies also contributes to the exhibition with a selection of her street and abstract photography. In an exploration of sound and still image, Olivia has also composed music to accompany some images in the exhibition.
€˜How Eye Sea’ is open to the public Tuesday 22nd November — Sunday 4th December. It will be held at The Orangery Fine Art Gallery in Shenton Park. Gallery opening times are 11am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday.
