Choosing a fine art paper

• Matte cotton rag: soft, deep and velvety, with no glare. Ideal for fine art, black-and-white and illustration. Try Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308, Canson Rag Photographique or Somerset Velvet.
• Textured papers: a visible watercolour-style surface that adds character. Hahnemühle German Etching and Torchon, Canson Edition Etching Rag and Ilford Cotton Artist Textured.
• Baryta and fibre papers: the look of a traditional darkroom print, with deep blacks and a subtle sheen. Canson Platine Fibre Rag and Baryta Photographique II, Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta.

Get the colour right
