Nikon D4s is on its way
The Nikon D4S specs have now been released and we expect stock shortly. Heres a bit of a run down of the improvement over the D4. While we have only been able to get these from the spec sheets it should give you a pretty good idea what sort of camera the D4s will be.

Differences: quite a few
Lets start with ISO the D4s has ISO of up to 409,600. After shooting the D4 at 109000 odd ISO, Id have to question the value of this. The images were usable at best. Yes for surveillance and scientific purposes it is valuable.
There is a new image processor the Exceed 4 which is going to improve the overall image quality. Its 30% faster than the Exceed 3 in the D4.
The D4S has got a fast FPS from 10 to 11, its has also increased its continuous capabilities from 76 shots in 14bit raw to 104 shots in 14bit raw,and a huge 176 shots in small raw.
While the battery hasn’t changed from the EN-EL18 but it has got more efficient now allowing us to get over 3000 frames compared to aprox 2500 with the D4.
While not a small raw as we know it on the Canon camera’s Nikon have introduced, RAW SIZE S setting allows for shooting 12-bit uncompressed Nikon NEF files that are smaller and more easily manageable.
Video function has improve with some excellent additions.
Now we have 1,920 × 1,080 (full or cropped) at 59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 25p and 23.976p to select from.
D4S adds real-time audio adjustments during recording, selectable sound ranges like Wide Range and Voice Range and improved wind noise reduction on the internal mic. We’d still recommend some sort of external audio setup like Rode and Zoom but this is still an improvement.
