It is with great sadness that we inform our friends and industry colleagues that after a protracted illness, Pat Donaghey passed away on the 25th May 2017.
Pat’s association with Team Digital stems back to 1973, when he was first employed as a photographic retail sales person in one of the company’s city stores. At that time the business traded under the name Perth Photographics and it was clear even in those early days, that as an employee, Pat had that something special. As a result, he steadily worked his way up through the ranks to become a manager and eventually the Sales and Marketing Director for the business. Pat assumed a significant share of the ownership of the business in 1987, which he continued to hold until his retirement in 2009. During his many years with Perth Photographics and subsequently Team Digital, Pat earned a reputation for being a tough negotiator with his firm but fair management style and became an important ingredient in the ongoing success of the business. Pat had a tremendous service ethic, which inspired great loyalty amongst his clients, to the point where a number of them became firm friends for life.
The business has now traded for over fifty years and Pat’s contribution to its success over much of that time is now a matter of record and as such will not be forgotten.
Pat contracted a terminal illness in 2009 and the courage he displayed in the ensuing years was nothing short of inspirational. Pat is survived by his wife Sue and his son Liam and daughter Melissa.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family for their sad loss.
