It is a 14 hour workshop – held over 2 sessions of 7 hours each.
In this day & age, everyone seems to be desktop publishing – media & advertising agencies, schools & hospitals, government departments, small businesses, not-for-profit & community organisations, etc. Unfortunately though, many people have found themselves in a designer’s role without any formal training and may feel overwhelmed by it all.
In this 2-day course, participants will learn:
the fundamentals of good design and how it enhances readability and effectiveness of communication; purpose & visual literacy; document layout, typography and colour; corporate identity & publications.
Principles will be practiced through Adobe® InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator.

This course runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th June 2025.

Adobe® After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production. It is primarily used by video editors to create motion graphics and also visual effects. It allows users to animate, edit, and compose media 2D or 3D space with many different built-in tools and third party plug-ins.

Premiere Pro – Essentials
This course runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th June 2025.
This is the first course in our Video Post-Production series.
It provides instruction on how to create professional videos.
Designed for Video creators and producers; creating a documentary, editing a commercial or pumping out video bytes for their Social Media channels.
Upon completion of this 2-day course, students will be able to:
- customise the interface to suit different tasks and projects
- set up a project – import and organise media
- perform editing essentials – including working with the timeline, clips & markers; adding transitions; trimming & nesting clips; and putting motion in clips.
- edit and mix basic audio soundtracks and narration/voice-overs
- correct colour
- add video special effects
- work with multiple layers
- create titles
- manage simple video projects
- output to a range of different industry standard file formats.
Adobe® Premiere Pro CC 2024 will be used in class. It is much less applicable to earlier versions of the software.
