DaVinci Resolve, developed by Blackmagic Design, combines editing, colour correction, visual effects, motion graphics and audio post production in an all-in-one software application. Its interface is reasonably fast to learn, and easy for new users – yet reinforces the production workflows used by industry.
DaVince Resolve is the free version. It is a serious contender for schools offering SCSA and General media units, who wish to avoid the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription model.
Discussion of comparisons between the free (DaVinci Resolve) and paid (DaVinci Resolve Studio) version video editing applications is encouraged.
