Over the last 10 years Epson has grown to become a world leader in Dye Sublimation. This has been achieved by combining accurate and consistent image quality with flexible and reliable operation. The SureColor F6460 represents our fourth generation 44″ model. It features enhanced image quality with faster performance and simpler operation. It suits a wide range of production applications from customised fabric and garments to quality décor and merchandise, premium hard and soft signage. It can be ordered in either a 4c or 6c configuration and uses convenient 1.6L ink pouches. Prints are made on paper which is transferred (sublimated) via a heat press onto material with a polyester base or polyester pre-treatment.

The SC-F6460 is designed for medium~high production volumes. It combines a large 1.33” Epson print head with advanced Epson Dye Sublimation ink, a high-capacity tray-loaded ink system, and advanced Precision Dot image processing. All components work together to enable superior imaging with fine gradation, an expanded gamut, and high colour density. The engine and ink system enable cost-effective production at speeds up to 70.8sqm/hr. The integrated autocutter enables cut-sheet output for operation with a flat heat press while an optional Auto-Take-Up (ATU) enables fast and efficient roll-to-roll production for operation with a calendar style heat press.

QUALITY RESULTS AT FASTER PASS RATES

The SureColor F6460 has a robot-assembled chassis that is laser welded for exceptional strength and rigidity. High print speeds can be achieved with minimum movement and noise. It features a new PrecisionCore™ Thin Film print head that is 33% larger for faster performance and has smaller nozzles for enhanced image quality. Variable Sized Droplet Technology driven by Epson Precision Dot Technology enable accurate and consistent colour. Refined LUT and HTM enable superior imaging at lower pass rates. A range of standard print modes enable fast and cost-effective output while HQ modes enable premium work with super-fine detail.

Epson UltraChrome DS Ink provides vibrant colour that dries quickly, transfers smoothly and provides excellent light and wash fastness. The ink is resistant to damage through abrasion and perspiration. When applied to polyester fabrics it conforms to the latest Oeko-Tex Eco Passport® standard with products safe for use by adults, children and babies 4. The SC-F6460 ships operates with a 4c ink set that includes C/Y/M + HDk for intense colour with a neutral tone and an expanded gamut. The 6c SC-F6460H ships with the same base set and can be configured with a choice of three extended sets; Fluro Fy/Fp for maximum brightness, Gamut Or/Vi for maximum colour range, and Tonal Lc/Lm for maximum gradation with minimum grain. FLEXIBLE WORKFLOW

The SureColor F6460 is small and compact with a footprint that is just 1.5sqm. All consumables are front loaded and it features fast spindle-less roll media mounting that can be managed by a single operator. It ships with a set of media adaptors that support rolls with either 2″ or 3″ cores in widths from 10″ to 44″. Additional adaptor sets can be purchased separately to facilitate rapid exchange in environments when multiple stocks &/or media sizes need to be used. The printer incorporates a high-speed rotary cutter for operation with a flat sheet heat press. An optional Auto Take Up is also available for fast and efficient roll-to-roll production and operation with a calendar style heat press.

The Epson DS Fabric series has been designed for consistent, reliable, and cost-effective operation. The SC-F6460 features a new ink system that uses mess-free 1.6L ink pouches. The pouches are compact, easy to transport, easy to store, and produce minimal waste. They are easy to agitate and quick to load. The printer has a bulk waste system with a 2L reusable tank that is easy to empty. It supports user self-maintenance with a simple head cleaning kit and a convenient hatch to access the capping system. A large control panel operates via a touch interface and has in-built help. Additional video guides can be accessed via a QR-code.

EASY TO INSTALL & CONFIGURE

Dye sublimation offers significant benefits over traditional screen printing. Digital image processing enables easier image creation and editing, more output control, and more flexible production with superior consistency. It is considerably quicker and less expensive for short to medium production runs, requires less labour, involves less materials, and less wastage. Printing is mess free and production can occur in a relatively small amount of space. Job turnaround is faster and repeat runs can be undertaken at the push of a button. While the process generally only suits fabrics with a high polyester content, it can also be used with a range of other materials that will accept a polyester spray and withstand the heat + pressure of the transfer process. A wide range of products can be produced including fabric banners and metal signage, timber furniture finishes and sporting goods, phone covers and tablet cases, footwear (‘thongs’) and sportswear, wall decorations and home décor.

The SureColor F6460 runs off a standard 240V power supply and can be driven by a moderately powered PC. The printer ships with Epson Edge Print PRO software that enables production of quality material with outstanding colour, precision, and consistency. It is built on an advanced Adobe Postscript engine that supports source files in PS, EPS, PDF, TIFF, JPEG and PNG formats. It provides basic functions such as copy, position, trim and nest, as well as advanced functions such as tiling, step and repeat. Unlike traditional RIP software that can often be difficult to use, it features a simple interface that is designed to emulate the output so what you see on screen is what you get on the page. The printer also features an integrated Epson Cloud Solution PORT server. When activated, PORT provides convenient web/app based reporting and management while also facilitating advanced back-end support.
